Creative Writing Club

Creative Writing Club meets at 1pm every other Tuesday in U20 and is open to Years 8 – 12.

Did you know that writing reduces stress and develops self-confidence? It increases positivity, as well as helping you communicate by exercising your imagination. Whoever thought: it has also been proven to improve your expression in Maths and Science?! At the moment, we are exploring fairytales and how they can help us structure stories. Later in the year, we will be sharpening our skills with dialogue, and then diving into poetry.

Creative Writing Competition, Autumn 2016

At the start of the Autumn term, Dr Erin Halliday ran a short story competition to launch the new Creative Writing Club with Years 8 – 12.

The winning story, ‘As Free As Freedom’, was by Ruth Stevenson 8C, who received a £10 book token as a prize.  Read Ruth’s story below:
